Abstract Submission Guidelines

THE DEADLINES FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONS FOR 7th NECCS 2024 is before

 

  1. Abstract MUST be emergency critical care or PoCUS related

  2. Abstract must be submitted in English to ecchrpb@gmail.com before the deadline.

  3. You will be notified of abstract acceptance or rejection by 5th January 2024.

 31st December 2023

For all ACCEPTED abstracts:

  1. You will be expected to prepare an e-poster for display during 7th NECCS 2024 and will have the opportunity to present your e-poster to a jury of faculty members.

  2. Instruction for the e-poster will be sent with the acceptance email. 

  3. Presenters of the accepted abstracts MUST complete registration for NECCS before 10th January 2024 or the e-poster will not be displayed and abstract submission is considered withdrawn. 

  4. The submitting author will be considered as the contact author and the presenting author. If you wish to delegate another author for this role, please email Dr. Chan Pei Fong at ecchrpb@gmail.com.

  5. Your abstract will be published, as submitted, in a supplement issue in Malaysian Journal of Emergency Medicine (MJEM). By submitting an abstract to us, you agree to this publication, if accepted. Abstracts will be automatically rejected if plagiarism is identified. ​

  6. Accepted abstract will be eligible for a new registration rate of RM350 per pax.

White Structure

​Abstract Formatting Instructions:

  1. The total length of the abstract text must not exceed 2000 characters including spaces (author names and affiliations, abstract titles, tables and figure legends are not included).

  2. Each abstract must contain the following components:

    • Title: Must be short and specific. Type in sentence format (with one capital at the beginning), in bold font.​

    • Introduction: The first sentence(s) should state the hypothesis, purpose or specific objective of the study.

    • Method: Briefly describes the study design, patients or subjects, procedures and measurements.

    • Results: A summary of the results should be provided with relevant data:

    • ​Conclusion: The abstract should close with a brief statement of conclusion

    • ​References: If included, cite number in text using square brackets [1]. In reference list, note first author only followed by ‘et al’ where necessary, the journal name, volume, page range and year of publication. Do not include the article title (e.g. Ahmad AA et al. MJEM 20:1-10,2020).

  3. ​Up to 10 authors (including submitting author). The submitting author will be the contact author.

  4. Case reports: Must be submitted using components (Title, Introduction, Case, Discussion, Conclusion)

  5. Consent to publish: If the abstract contains details relating to individual participants (e.g. case report), written informed consent for the publication must be obtained form the participant(s) and a statement to this effect should appear at the end of the abstract
